The forecast at ABC 4? Scattered showers.
Water from a broken sprinkler flooded the ABC affiliate’s news set Wednesday morning, and newscasts were aired from other parts of the building due to the damage.
“It is a TOTAL mess,” the station remarked on their Facebook page..
“It was only one sprinkler near the front of our news studio — we had water damage to some of our news set and electrical gear,” ABC 4 Utah News Director George Severson told 24 Salt Lake.
Severson said the crew was able to return to the studio Thursday for the 10 p.m. newscast.
ABC 4 built a new set on April 26, 2010, and began broadcasting in high definition. The station unveiled a branding campaign in April, including a new logo and graphics.
